When at home

Ask almost any driver, “What is most important toy you about this job?” and almost all will say is Home Time.

Let’s face it, that’s why we do what we do, providing for your family and being around the ones we love. Even if you are single, it doesn’t matter. Time at home with friends is important. You tend to forget that while on the road. Many schedules for newer drivers is 3-4 weeks out, 3-4 days at home. It is important to get out of that truck.

If you are in a relationship , be open and share with your partner goals for time at home. After staying out for long times, when you get home, it’s a balance act. You might just want to relax for a day, while your partner is making plans to go places, and cram in as much as possible for the few days you are home.

Drivers joke while out on the road, “I can’t wait to get home”, then when they finally get home,”I can’t wait to get back out”. So do t try ti cram so much in while hame. Just normal things like going to the bank, mowing the yard, or cooking dinner can be an escape.

Just remember to take a day for yourself, and get out of the truck while home.
